The executive powers of the Hyannis Fire District are vested in the Board of Commissioners with all the executive powers given to them under Mass Gen Laws.  The Board is the chief policy-making agency of the District and is responsible for the issuance of policy directives and guidelines.

2025 Calendar

Regular scheduled meetings of the Hyannis Fire District Commissioners for the calendar year will be held unless otherwise noted on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Hyannis Fire Department, 95 High School Road Ext, Hyannis.

Annual Election: Tuesday, May 20, 2025

Nomination papers for the FY 2026 election for two (2) positions on the board of commissioners of the Hyannis Fire District, for a three (3) year term and (1) position for moderator for (3) year term are available at the district headquarters, clerk’s office, 95 High School Road Extension, Hyannis, MA.  Fifty valid signatures are required.  Nomination papers must be submitted to the Town of Barnstable registrars of voters for certification no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and must be returned to the clerk of the Hyannis fire district no later than 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025.  Elections will take place Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The annual meeting of the Hyannis Fire District will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to submit an article for the annual warrant may do so by having a petition signed by at least 50 registered voters of the district. Petition forms must be obtained from the district clerk’s office. Any article so submitted must be filed with the Town of Barnstable registrars of voters by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, for verification of signatures and returned to the district clerk by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
